The Ottawa Sun Rookie of the Year is awarded to one Slammer per year, based on a scientific assessment of their first-year achievements including points earned, number of birdies and dogs, winning percentage and other factors, but most importantly, based on what they bring to the Tour in terms of sportsmanship.
As always, first-year Slammer Tour membership is free for rookies, so make sure you spread the word. This key honour is awarded at the season-end Slammies, the Tour's official awards ceremony.

Although MadMax takes the prize for participating in the most number of events (33), for compiling the most number of points (88) and racking up the most number of birds (31) and dogs (12) of any rookie, he will be remembered most for a statistic that doesn't appear in any table: setting the bar for driving distance for the Tour – 300 yards was routine for Mr. MM! MadMax – a fitting moniker!
