| Another successful and funtastic Doggie Extravaganza was held on the evening of July 28 at White Sands. 18 Slammers were registered but due to the forgetfulness of 2 Slammers (Gurmpy and IronMan)only 16 Slammers enjoyed the festivities of the event. There were lots of opportunities to test your irons to win doggies and skins as 7 holes are 150 yards or less from the whites.How good is your iron play? And White Sands double verticut and double rolled the greens in the morning to make the greens run close to a 10. White Sands has to be the best 9 hole course in the city.
Doggies
Again golfers were grouped by class so to provide competition within your class. All holes had doggies won with each worth 35 bones:
- 3 won by Ticklar
- 2 won by ProZee
- 2 won by BytownBlue
- 1 won by Chilly, and
- 1 won by Mother
Skins
Another 4 skin event worth 18 bones each won by:
- Chilly (birdie)
- Mother (birdie)
- ProZee (birdie)
- SeaBass (birdie)
Stars
- Ticklar has first star honours with 105 bones (3 dogs)
- ProZee takes second star with 88 (2 dogs, 1 skin and 1 birdie)
- Third star went to BytownBlue for earning 70 bones (2 dogs)
Honourable mention goes to Mother with 53 bones (1 dog, 1 birdie, and 1 skin)
The kids took home $16!
The Royal Oak, proud sponsor of Ottawa Sun Scramble Kick-Off Day, was the scene of the wind up activities. The Royal Oak known for their outstanding service and great food was an excellent environment for the windup.The last Doggie Extravaganza, an 18 hole event, has been rescheduled to September 1 starting at 4:00 at White Sands with the wind-up at The Royal Oak Orleans. Register and come on out for the festivities, puppies and skins!
