Summary
We got to experience the magical realm of Camelot and took pleasure in witnessing Lancelot, Guinevere, Excalibur, Table Ronde, Merlin’s Trap, the Holy Grail and many more features of Camelot. No this was not an adventure into King Arthur’s Camelot with the legend of the Knights of the Round Table but a journey in pure pleasure and the enjoyable experience of playing one of the best conditioned, challenging and enjoyable golf courses in the Ottawa/Gatineau region. The Slammer Tour returned to Camelot after a three year hiatus and the Slammers were not disappointed on their return. As a reminder of the quality of this course and facilities, Golf Canada chose Camelot to co-host the 108th Canadian Men’s Amateur Championship last year. For the today’s event, the fairways were like carpet, the greens were running close to 12 on the stimpmeter, the views spectacular, the conditioning first class and the layout very challenging. It was like golf eye candy. Some Slammers took advantage of the this opportunity and scored well on the scorecard and match play results while others found Camelot’s enchantment just beyond their reach. A truly pleasurable afternoon of Slamming at one of the region’s premiere golf courses capped off with libations at the 19th hole where there was no three putting. And thank you to my fellow Slammers who conducted themselves as great representatives and ambassadors of the Slammer Tour and Executive Golf.
