Notables

  • TC Match. Rulz avenges the family name! Two days ago, Reelaction1 (re-election to Mulder) beat the younger Ryan in a B TC match. Today he succumbed to big brother, in the A class. Rulz was up 4 with six to play and on 18 it looked like neither wanted to win.
  • Do you remember when NOTABLES were written on the sheet by golfers that were impressed? Well on the 12th, Dracula drains a 30 yard flopwedge into the cup. It had all three of his playing partners marvelling as they walked to the next teebox.
  • Pace of Play, was well discussed. There were concerns about both too fast and too slow. Great times had by all and maybe there was a slight hiccup when our first group got slowed by John Q Public.
  • When Ripzone won the first star prize of a sleeve of balls from Prescott Golf Club, wondered if he could trade with Stevie Ray for the second star prize. It was determined that the glove would last longer than the three balls. Sunny’s head may be a little larger than his (third star prize) hat. There was a fourth star prize today that KidsClub donated to Mulder who now has his first poker chip ball marker.
  • It was voted on and accepted that a couple of guys whined at the 19th and then added a toonie to the Make-a-Wish foundation. Thank you Mulder and Ripzone for honouring this long time tradition. We were remiss in not voting on the president for bragging about delegating all of the jobs and then being voluntold to be doggie Master. For thinking and stating that you were too high up to do this IMPORTANT job – your whine fee should be one of those fivers that you are always showing on the webpage. We accept your IOU.
  • Back to the Masters … THANK YOU Mulder for volunteering to be the QUICK SNAP doggie master, collecting most of the bones then handing off the duties when asked to move your foursome, and then become the Broker4Tickets skins master.
  • Grzbkl joins the hole in one club. His name was pronounced and called Griswald, Grizzlebeak, Garbonzo beans, Grease Bucket, and now will be AuldFart. Name change will happen before his next event.

Quotables

  • “I think it is time for the Tour to witness another Rulz / Sunny match.”
  • “Looks like I am playing the Slammer that is unpronounceable.”
  • “I feel like McGoop!”
  • “Hey guys, this is the third tee box and you are already a hole behind the group ahead.” “Those old guys are fast!”
  • “That is real! (poking finger into belly)”
  • “We can’t get BigGuy to shut up during a round of golf.”
  • “Are you looking for a ProV1?” “Yes!” “Is it a #1?” “Yes!” “Refurbished?” “No! It is refinished.”
  • “We never saw the group behind us until the twelfth hole.”
  • “Sardine that was a trout shot.” “No that was a tuna shot.”
  • “I’m not going into the hole-in-one club unless I win the pot.”
  • “Ripzone cant read the scorecard because of his contacts? How is he going to drive home?”
  • “Glove will last longer than the three balls.”
  • “Grumpy, don’t speak so loud, it’s only three a.m. in my time.”
  • "Why were you late?" "You can't leave a hot roulette table!:

Summary
Dilligaf works at Prescott Golf Club. He has been seen at the ball machine. He has been seen re-arranging carts. He has been seen behind the counter. He has been heard on the phone (IM / PoP / confirming tee times). Well today this bartender served the first Slammer beer of the day to Sardine for lunch. When I arrived at the course, I dropped in to see Thom at his desk in the office. “Hey Thom, two events in a row and you are sitting at your desk. Are you trying to keep Joe out of it?” I stopped to discuss the prizes for our three stars. NOT necessary, they were already in the pro shop and set aside for us. Thank you Prescott!

Stars
Ripzone
Ripzone was the last addition to today’s event. There are three people wishing that he had something else to do. Well not really – they were pretty impressed by his play. The first victim was DeeJay (the Tour’s DeeJay was beaten by club EG’s DJ). Today was the tenth time that have gone head to head. Well this is the earliest (5and4) that Ripper has closed DeeJay. Their career is now 5-4-1 for DeeJay. One hole later, it was TwinDad to give up five bones. He woke up thinking that he only had to bring two blue pieces of paper then arrived to see his foursome complete. Although Ripzone is now three and OH vs TD, this was the first time ever that Ripzone (500th career win) beat Twin Dad in Canada (once in Jay Peak and 12 years ago he beat Bubbles). THE MATCH that was his biggest was against the Tour’s favourite Romanian (and YES you did just see pictures of Dracula looking like his dad and drinking empty bottles – or was it bottles emptied?). Why biggest? UPSET! He was about B65 and moved up 55 overall steps on the ladder and is now B19, and he had never beaten Dracula before (lost on the thirteenth last time). Ripzone never trailed in this match that was decided when they both bogeyed 18. THAT IS MATCH PLAY!
Stevie Ray
“Hey Stevie, what’s wrong with your game?” “I don’t want to talk about it!” WOW! His clubs did the talking today. If Dilligaf hadn’t halved the first two holes, he would have won THAT most valuable prize of toilet paper. Then this C player upset a B (KidsClub) Slammer. When he beat KidsClub 7and5, he became the #1 C. This was 4066 days since their inaugural Prescott event. Rounding out the three victories was when he beat Sardine 4and2.
Sunny
Sunny owns the first quote of the event. Then he arrived, was his usual jovial self. Also had to get in a few trumpisms with Mulder. Then it was time to play. His foursome walked off the green on the par three fifteenth. None of their group’s six matches were finished. He then went on to birdie (for the skin) sixteen and close both of the TC competitors. His par on the next hole completes his sweep.
