During his introduction it is acknowledged, that this former D golfer scores more D scores than the Cs that he is. However he is 4-0-1 here in 2013, and has been a star BOTH times.

Notable two ... BearCat is the latest Slammer to join the Senior division, 6/8 of today’s field are there. The only young bucks were the 3rd and 5th star.

Notable three ... Fastest round ever? One of Potter’s buddies tees off as a solo. He leaves and then we go through our intros and the first four tee-off. As they are walking down the fairway, we start to chat about the second group intros, and the banter et al. Then Potter’s buddy drives by (from the direction of the 18th green).
- Notable four ... Dracula was introduced as being in a tie for second place in the doggy race. Four par threes. He wins the dog on hole 3 and hole 15 (where he collects the trifecta – for the ONLY bird of the day). Hole 9 – see sixth quotable - he would have won, but he three jacked. Hole 17, was won by a 34 footer, his par was from 29’ but on the fringe. He IS second now with 17.
- Notable five ... are more upsets today (58%) than successful defences.
- Notable six ... It takes Grumpy longer to type a report than it takes to play a round.

Summary
All the effort, yet still only eight Slammers make the trek down the 416 / 401 to BCC. Jack’s house was there in its full splendour. They are always available to help, and from every level. It seems that each time out, I meet another employee, board member, volunteer who seems to have gone to the JK school of hospitality. Who was that guy in the office that talked to Grumpy as if they were high school buddies? The starter Ryan, thinks that he is part of the Slammer family, and stays to listen to every introduction. So what were we to expect for the 170th event of the year? Well we had a milestone (Bubba plays his 100th event to win a Slammer shirt), we had a couple of #1 hats up for grabs, and a whole ton of laughs. The three star section of the OC report, had all eight Slammers participate. Ok we went beyond the customary three, announced that with only eight in the field, we may only have two, but actually the countdown started off with the eighth star, 7th, 6th, 5th, 4th... some more laughs as the finalists were announced. 3rd, 2nd, and the OBVIOUS FIRST. Some sixth star input and a switch of two and three, then some bloody whining!

First star, first notable, and first quotable. I AM NOT president of the Sutty fan club, just reporting it to you as I see it. We don’t care about scores in match play, but we do care about matches (he went 3-0), and the way to win them is by best score on the hole. He shook Big Guy’s hand after 13. Then 285 yards later he did the same to Grumpy and Gator. Then started the slide, his first three putt on 15, and closed out with six over on the last three holes. Today Sutty had his best ever score at BCC. Before the hand shaking, he had three doubles and four pars to go with his bogeys. Bogey golf is a B class. Today Sutty is the #1 C, and will be ordering his hat. Well Done! |

Grumpy got the nod, but it was first given to the Count. With Grumpy’s 4th career win (4-21-5) over Gator, he has jumped way up the ladder to 15 (buddy Blue’s upset at the other event today – over springlakes – dropped G to 16). That high ranking will have more people come to Whitetail next Friday, to play 36 and move up the ladder. He had the dog on 17 (yes again Maiden & chill), from 34 feet – second putt wasn’t near a gimme, where he had to pick up the third lollipop for the day. Oh yeah – the new number one D (again), which means another hat to be won soon by the D challengers. |

Dracula’s home course? Another 3-0 day here for the bloodthirsty one. That brings his career record here to 5-1-1. He won two dogs and 4 skins, bringing those totals to 5 dogs and 8 skins in his three event career – is there a prize (a Myrtle Beach package) for him next month when he has to take a Friday off work? Why did he get bumped from second? ”He is an A that played and beat a D and a couple of Cs!” See the fourth notable. |
