 Notables - We had two rookies join us today. Not exactly a mini-me but close enough, Gator brings his son who takes on the handle of Ali G (I suspect that his mother sent him along to keep an close eye on pops!).

Also new to the fold is the BlackBaron, a distant relative of "Red" he sadly needs some target practice as he failed shoot anyone down today.

Cudos goes out to Chef. Gator put out the word that he was looking for a pair of golf shoes for Ali G and Chef cooked up, not just an entree but he threw in desert as well, 2 pairs of shoes on the house! A great big thanks from both of the swamp creatures.

Solid pace of play today as the first group closed it out just 8min over the 4hr point and the last group joining them for a cold one in under the 4:15 mark.

Summary
Old man weather couldn't rain on the slammer parade today. While it drizzled most of the morning not a drop was seen by the time this motley crew teed it up. The folks at Gatineau greeted us with open arms and big smiles along with a course that was reasonably dry despite the day's rain. We started right on time with virtually no one in front to slow us down and no one waiting behind the last group. It's nice to feel like you own the place. The outdoor patio was open with lots of good food and refreshing beverages consumed. A good time was had by all.

We may have to rename this Slammer Iron(less)Maiden. It seems while she may be a maiden she is totally lacking in iron. In fact, word has it that she may soon be relegated to a "soft" metal band. She is a bit of medical oddity though as with virtually no iron in her system she should have no energy. Well, nothing like a little Slammer competition to get this girl fired up. Going 3-0, she posts one birdie, takes one skin and hits a doggie ball that rattled the pin before finishing within a foot of the hole. Just another ho hum day in Slammer land as IronMaiden takes home 1st star billing. |

This Slammer had a little trouble with the baking instructions at the start of the day as he fumbled his way to a triple bogie on the 1st hole. Alas, it was all but a careful ruse, designed to instill false hope in those dreaming of claiming the cherished position of #1 Slammer. Quickly re-reading the recipe, Chef bakes up a big helping of humble pie which he spoon fed to his fellow slammers. Tallying one birdie, one skin and going 3-0, Chef holds on to the title of heavy weight champion of the Slammer tour. |

While it is imperative that one always keep a close eye on the Monkee, if one is to preserve one's dignity, the primate remained focused when it came to his golf game today. Using the competition as his personal organ grinders, he has them dancing to his tune going 2-0 in his matches, has one birdie and undercuts his scoring average by a full 10 strokes. A well earned 3rd star. |
