Notables

  • 3 wood, 6 iron and a putt was what Malone used to start the day with an eagle.
  • Then there were lots of notable golfing by the second group. Starting off with the TC Ladies champ declared today. Cash defeats Juice for her third straight!
  • Juice had the best game today compared to her scoring average, upset Clang to move from 73rd to 30th and also added a dog.
  • Clang had today's fourth eagle {well actually it was the second one and on #8} see over to the right for the other three. His eagle and that of his playing partner Cash were both with driver/hybrid/putter {hey Mapper - that sounds familiar - remember those clubs were also used on that day June 22, 2010}
  • The fourth guy in group two was Flagman who had two dogs, chipped in twice and sank a 50 foot putt - welcome to the tour!
  • All four dogs were won in that same group two.

Quotables

  • "Just like old times."
  • "Exigencies of the service!"
  • "Eagle and a birdie! Who invited this guy?"
  • Hole 14 - ball on the rocks. "What club are you going to use for that shot?" "I'll use the club, that I plan to replace next."
  • "Achoo!" "Bless you!" "Thank you!" "You're welcome!"
  • "The weather was lousy. The golf was lousy. BUT the company was fantastic."
  • "He cut off my bird with an eagle."
  • "Hole #6 with a par - skin for Ruskie!" "I did?" "You audited the report."

Summary
Slammer max (5) outnumbers eagles (4) by one. How often can we say that? Who can answer these? 1. when was the last time that one Slammer had two eagles in one event? 2. when was the last time that three different Slammers had an eagle in the same event? 3. when was the last time that we had 4 eagles in an event? So it is fall, we have so much different inclement weather. Wind, cold, some rain, even some sun and jackets getting removed. How can anybody golf under these conditions? Well as you have already read friends, eagle season has opened. Burnsy wake up! Your lead is dwindling (who can name the only other two words that begin with DW? Don't use derivatives of the same word & don't cheat, leave your Funk and Wagnall alone). Now what about the Canadian? - having one person stay behind to serve the Slammers a few drinks - THANK YOU, for that and the fall prices for a power cart - ONLY $10 a seat! Hey SLAMMERS - send me an email with the answers to 1-2-3 & and the three dw words and you get a pair of tickets to the 67s, and just like golf we are going to use the honour system - no dictionaries!

Stars
Malone
Don't anybody inform the Audubon Society. But today's first star, Malone sure hit a lot of feathered friends today. FIVE of them and only three were birdies. YES it is true, he had two EAGLES! Although that was only good for 3 skins he did go undefeated with his three over par, and I must say that as an "A" classer playing with a bunch lesser weights he did his share of flag holding and replacing. He also wouldn't take advantage of that leaf rule when it was suggested twice.
Cash
Can you say threepeat? Ladies TC champ takes down Juice on the 13th {their third career match and all three ended after 13}, then proceeds to be the only Slammer to go 3-0 today. Add an eagle on #17 to cut off the first star from getting a skin, when he eagled the same hole. Great score {5 below average}, and an eagle to go with a 3-0 record would often be often to be first. But NOT today.
Rexall (We Remember) (r)
Group one had a quote in the comments section before the event. It came from the one and only Bookie. He said "just like old times" because three quarters of this group had previously played together in 139 matches. The fourth guy - that 2011 Super Senior champ was undefeated in his only match against this group. So they went out and played their 18 holes. They took 367 shots and on that last one Ruskie and Rexall tied with the exact same score and both went 2-0-1. During the presentations it was announced that they were awarded a tie for the third star, however with the site unable to award a tie the decision would be given to the one that came back to tie. Well, after 12 Ruskie was up two, then Rexall won #13 and #14. how did the last four holes go? They both had three pars and a bogey on 18. THIRD STAR goes to Rexall as Ruskie correctly announced at the event.
