Summary
This is a tough job for Grumpy, due to all of the activities that happened in the last 24 hours, prior to tee time. There was bribing, late additions, changed challenges, bailage, re-entry, injury to cause a last minute bailing, and then more of the attempted buying. As OC I arrived armed to make a decision. Knowing full well that when a decision has to be made, there is no chance at all of 100% satisfaction by all of the Slammers. Then we are told that the clubhouse will be closed when we are finished. Problem solved - we will go to Woodsy's restaurant {Kelsey's @ South Keyes}. A lot of consideration, then explained how the decision was going to be made, almost sent out two 5somes then the last Slammer arrived, made the decision when {see third star} all bribes were refused. Then we finished - the bar remained open, Ticklar was buying a lot! EVERYBODY make a call to ensure when you are thinking of playing, to see if there is any last minute opening. At work the next day I find out that Sunshine wanted to play but there was no room. Slammies are coming up and she is my nomination for Most Stylin Slammer.

Hey tick I love the Egyptian Pearl, so I am choosing my words carefully. I am pretty sure that I praise him more than anyone, I call him the most pet names like "Most adorned slim egyptian pearl." I also am all over him for some of his antics and shenanigans. Bottom line is that he KNOWS the rules and how to bend them just enough. OK enough with my political announcement, on with the summary. "Our first star Ticklar is a master of strategy and today his plan worked perfectly! Going 3-0 Ticklar ... takes over the #1 rank on the tour!" Am I having a déja vu? These words are so familiar! They are almost exactly one year old, and were written by IM as her summary for the November 14, 2010 event. Well he did it again. He got into the same group as #1 Woodsy, then took him down on the 14th, and one hole later he was 3-0. Ticklar is our newest #1...let's see if he can hold on! On the way he had three birds today which were good enough for a pair of skins and 18 FITforeGOLF bones. I will close with one more IM quote from a year ago as we head into the final weekend "Fantastic and congrats!" Two events to go and again I am sure there are Slammers salivating to stop his repeat as champ. |

Have you ever played with Papa? He - like so many of us - is a joy to play with when he is playing well. Today he played well enough to go 3-0, and be one ranking away from the #1 "D". Although all of the matches in his group were close and were never decided before 16, he was equal to doing what he had to to ensure the three wins. One little known stat for today is that Papa shot the most below his scoring average. |

Is there a more better example of gentleman playing this game that is SUPPOSED to be for them? Iron Maiden just asked me if I knew who I was voting for yet for the Preston Cup. Well the decision has been made for me, when after all the activities, that led up to today's round, were done, I had correctly predicted what DeeJay would do. Why was that? Because he is the least controversial Slammer of all. By the way he also went undefeated today playing only as good as he had to. |
