Notables

  • Notable #1… Ticklar was introduced and sent off being informed that he was at loss #599. His next would be his 600th. He returned after 18 with no losses. {see IM’s next report – to see who finally did it to him.}.
  • Notable #2… See the first quotable and pretend you’re surprised. The “A”s complain occasionally about the blue tee blocks on the eighth
  • Notable #3… Group two did a seldom Slammer occurrence and passed group one on the 4th tee. Then they said the fourth quotable below.
  • Notable #4… This was a one lefty event. Gator was the only Slammer on the wrong side of the ball.
  • Notable #5… There was a free beverage for each of the Slammers that played both ends of the double header. They all chose to wait for the patio beer, after the second round.
  • Notable #6… Thank you Ticklar for taking care of the Evolution Physio skins until I got in.
  • Notable #7… Spooner, when he wasn’t being spooned by Gator did a great job in his first duty collecting the bones and doing the TanCo report.
  • Notable #8… What is a female dog?
  • Notable #9… It was awesome teaming up with my perpetual Slammer of the Year nominee. Iron Maiden when not hitting doggies, and showing the new “Eddy the Head” balls will eventually be the first two-time winner of the Preston Cup. Thank you co-hostess!
  • PoP stands for Pace of Play. I have a certain record of moving fairly fast, some may even say TOO FAST. Well today, I had to wait a lot. But my round was complete in a very respectful 4h20. So lets all be respectful out there and BE AWARE of others as we go thru 18 holes of our favourite activity.

Quotables

  • “Beautiful drive! And it may have made it to the red tees.”
  • “We took our time and looked for balls on Amen Corner.”
  • “You are a lefty – you have to take your two club length drop – THAT way” (helpfully pointing toward the ditch).
  • “We were lonely!”
  • “New cart, new shoes, and a 3-0 record, Happy Father’s Day Gator to you from you.”
  • "What happens in a twosome, stays in a twosome."

Summary
Here we are the first of four straight Wednesdays, on which the tour is planning a “double-header”. This one is at one of our friendliest courses. People started to show up, got their complimentary bucket, a few had breakfast and then the business began. Rookie Spooner received his Doggie sheet and instructions and started on his first duty {in only his fourth event - I will research to see if it is a record but this was the fourth different city that he has played in} as one of the masters. Some guy named Chilly was added to the event and off the first group went. Two people missing from the second group, but expecting them at any moment, the second group went out. Now I claim to work in the golf business. Guess what, the Egyptian Pearl has just informed me (with a disgusted look on his face) that the US Open is on this week-end and is annually on Father's Day weekend. Thank you TICK!

Gator (r)
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY. I guess that you had to be there. So he shows up with a new cart. Then he has a new pair of shoes {by the way he changed into a second pair of new ones for the second event}. Well every-time they were discussed, he would say that they were Father's Day gifts. Not only did this rookie play his seventh event (at his 7th different course), but he went 3-0 for the first time. Today's three victories included upsets over Grumpy and Spooner on the 18th. He won a 4 bone skin last week and went on a spending spree. What will he do now with a 7 bone skin?
Chilly
Home course? Amen Corner? Well he did it one over par. He HAD to, to match pointZero, and finally passed him on seventeen. Three successful defenses to go with a dog and a bird. CHI-CHING CHilly! By the way IM - he is now only 24 behind you in the doggie race.
Ticklar
I didn't give him a star at the event, but he did go undefeated, had a skin and his dog is now only 20 behind IM in the doggie race.
