Notables

Their names are Malone, Rio, McGoop, Bare, ShortStack, TallStack, Grumpy and non-Slammer Pierre Villeneuve {EnOui!}. Too much rain for the busload? Well as soon as their bus left the parking lot at Man-O-War, the clouds closed. We have pictures to prove that the sunglasses were needed, the sunscreen was worn, and the shadows on the green were to be contended with. The busload went grocery shopping and knew what they were in for when the ELITE EIGHT got back.
Only two skins today - see the column below on the right and see that McGoop adds 52 bones to his new total. Sunny had the other skin and during his introduction - it was pointed out that he was only 27 away from the 1000 bone club. He gets the first milestone of the year, but NOT the last in Myrtle Beach for this tour.
Sunny recruited a couple of his Sun buddies and both Ceejay and Bainesy won a 43 bone doggy. Some non-rookie named RipZone won the other. Will it be lost at the poker table?

Summary
Welcome to the first of what I hope to be many, Myrtle Beach trips. This is actually the second summary of the year. the first would have mentioned that Legends Heathland - where we were to play yesterday was soaking wet. As is true Slammer tradition, we still went out, and there was putting thru puddles by some. The event got called, so see the first notable over to the left and see 'who came to golf'. But I can tell you this... of the 36 matches - there were 20 upsets. Ten Slammers played in their first ever event. The scoring average that is written over there on the right states 104, however we have a lost scorecard, and the true average is 97.

Stars
	Rio
	That kid naming himself The Legend, went undefeated and is still the top ranked slammer down here. He talks a good game and has a career of backing it up. Today he only had challenges from our pro, Malone was closed off at 14. and a couple of new people, both have been to the champions podium in the Ottawa Sun Scramble. First to fall was LilMuffin, last year's Ladies open champ on the 24th as well. McGoop, the six time champ lasted an extra hole. He continued his impressive career by adding three more wins to his 38-2-1 record. By the way those two losses were to Dragon on Aug 3rd and to Burnsy on July 9th at Wyndance.
	Gator
	The second highest ranked slammer here is Gator and he also went 3-0. he maintains that second highest ranking, even though there are many "A" classers on the trip. The joys of match play and early registrations. He has been protected from the big KIDZ coming after him. Today he got rid of BearCat on 14. His first two career matches over the Cat were both victories, then he ended the year with no wins in the last two. Three of their four matches had been decided on the 18th hole. He then ended both T-Bone (first career win after three losses) & SunShine on the 17th (this is their first ever match - but will play many more this week). His saddest part of the day? He didnt get to see any family members. No Gators at this course.
	Luvlife
	Mona is the sponsor. She played 6 events last year and went 0-13. Well her first match of this season is an upset default over ZenGirl, who missed the bus. LuvLife's game has vastly improved and speaking as a person who knows what an 8 looks and feels like I can truly attest. Last year - she may have been an automatic 12-14 maxes. Today - although they lost the scorecard - she had a twenty stroke saving - on a NOT EASY course. LuvLife will now start the season, jumping from being ranked 596 to 37 and will have a new target on her back.She will go a while before she wont have three challenges in her group.
