Notables - First it was Cuba, then it was Primo, now you will all have to ask Duke why we were delayed at the border.
- On hole #13 we got a point if we didn’t make a 3 putt. Sunny was proud to report that he didn’t have a 3-putt, but his playing mates will tell you he had 6 shots in the sand.
- Nanny Berry plays his first round in 3 years and birdies the 9th hole. Unfortunately, it was the only birdie cut-off of the day.
- The number 1 Slammer, McGoop, continued his undefeated streak, maintained his ranking, and won more challenge bones than what the record shows, as a result of the side bets. Ever wonder how he does it? One little example is on hole #7 today, his tee box actually was ahead of the two Cs and the D’s tee box.
- The only other Slammer to play here in the top 10 gave up that rank today three times.
- Seven groups today, and in three of them, the Defender went 0 and 3.
- We only had two winners today for the Culligan Doggie Report. Lil Muffin and Bainsey each collected 66 bones for their pair of puppies.
- The Dynamic Physio and Chiro game today resulted in eight skins. McGoop lead the way with three (inquiring minds want to know which tee box you played from.)
- Milestone alert. Malone's win over Gru was his 1000th career point. He becomes only the 9th Slammer to do so.

Summary
Welcome to 2014. Today is the first outdoor event of the season, and of course we had to travel to Myrtle Beach to play it. This is the 2nd annual Myrtle Beach trip and 48 golfers are taking part. In today’s event, 28 of those golfers are Slamming on the tour. Number 1 is in the house. A couple of players like Bainsey and Lil Muffin made their cameo appearances. Of course we welcome with open arms our three newest Slammers. They are UpnDown, Switch, and Nanny Berry.

So many Slammers impress us in their inaugural event. UpnDown is no exception. Yes he only went 2-1. Yes he only had one skin. His star today was earned by knocking off the second highest Slammer in Myrtle. He took down Gru (3 & 2), he will wake up tomorrow as #12 on the Tour. He also upset Sunny with his par on hole #18. |

It wasn’t easy for me (and others) to explain the dogs and skins games to our favourite Sun scribe. However, just before embarking on hole #1, he paid his 50 bones for five days worth of dogs and skins. He won the dog on holes #9 and #13, and is already up 16 bones with four days to go. Oh yeah, along the way, he upset Iron Maiden and moved up the rankings ladder by 224 rungs. |
