Notables

  • October 1 - Leaf rule is in effect ... know it? See the Rules page E5
  • Notable ONE - there were no inductees to the ten hole club today, also NO TC matches. Third thing that we had none of - was nobody paid into the hole-in-one club.
  • Notable TWO - during the introductions, it was noted how Juice has quietly been doing so well. WE all know that she leads the doggie race. But did you know that she is the top ranked Slammette? Or that no other Slammette has a better scoring median. How about the fact that she is soon to enter a very exclusive club {only three members} when she plays her 100th event of the season.
  • Notable TWO B - Two Slammers were dissed a little bit for their challenging prowess. Well that didn't bother Irons (new #3, and a bird, skin, dog, 41 bones), nor expletive expletive Ace (3-0) today.
  • Notable THREE - who is Darim? Well at first when he was seen as a passenger in Duke's cart - he was called Duke Jr. Then when Kookie kidnapped him and they went a-baking, PizzaMan re-nicknamed him Cookie II. He returned to the 19th with freshly baked cookies for the field - including Happy Hooker and friends (they'd BETTER be back). Oh yeah and Dad won a dog and skin and dished the 41 bones to Junior. (Is this a new way of giving to the Kids?)
  • Notable FOUR - Orange Crush was welcomed into her new club today. WELCOME - it's lonely down here at the bottom. She is the newest member of the D division and she almost won top D hat.
  • Notable FIVE - Only one Slammer was allowed on the driving range (see the second quotable) today.
  • Notable SIX - Reminder - free relief and what it means. This is the same course that this very question was brought up - last time. Does 'free' relief include a tree branch in your back swing? I saw it used twice - once with the tree and once without.
  • Notable SEVEN - there are mixed messages about Honourable mentions or not. Well I am giving one to the guy that moved from 88-20 and had a dog. And if you ever golfed with RonBow before you would be surprised that he did THIS WELL,
  • Notable EIGHT - Happy Birthday to you Smitty. During introductions - it was suggested that Smitty would be the sixth Slammer to reach 300 birdies today. No birthday present - so he had to settle for the cupcake - chocolate covered. Rumour had it - that he was bringing it home to Jenn... we will check.
  • PoP today was very very good by the first group. They never saw the second group. The fourth group was met coming off the 4th green. Asked to close the gap that had occurred between them and the third group. Hats off for not only doing it but for not arguing about it or giving excuses.
  • Thank you Doggie Master chill, for collecting and distributing all of the Culligan Water bones. Today we had a guest Skin Master, who may have had her hardest time trying to do the report when dealing with GoTee and her Pepperoni Boy, thank you Maiden for the Dynamic Physio & Chiro skins report.

Quotables

  • "You put a tingle in my fingers!", as Iron Maiden spilled Larry's coffee on him.
  • "Irons only on the driving range" ... now a couple of Slammers took credit for THAT one. I thought that it was Irons himself, but when it was pointed out to me that he whispered it to me, I am giving the credit to PizzaMan.
  • Speaking about funny Slammers... "I am the funniest!". Anybody want to guess on that Slammer's identity? Hint - BearCat and Pommie were not at the event.
  • "You should have seen the bounce off the tree {for Irons dog on NINE}"
  • "You are THAT bad - even though you are playing at your home course?" "Did Helen tell you to call it that?"
  • "I have never seen so many walnuts" "They are called acorns GoTee" "Well all I think about are nuts, playing with you guys.
  • "You almost had a birdie. In flight!"
  • "Can you PLEASE &%$@#*&^ wait!"
  • "I love a good cookie!"
  • "No cart girl, probably sped up pace of play."
  • "You didn't know that you were that good?" "Oh YES! I know it, everybody else knows that my three iron is my favourite club."
  • "More expletives coming Ace!"
  • "Don't be so violent. It is only a doggie ball."
  • "You owe me ten apologies." "Line up!" says Kookie.
  • "It was an enjoyable day even though I was with Grumpy & PizzaMan" "You must have been drunk!"
  • final quotable - "wife ... measurement ... boyfriend ... edited!"
Event: Prescott
Sun Oct 5, 2014
Summary
Iron Maiden was seen {as she often is, when we come to Prescott} shaking hands with Membership Director Larry Berry. He is a very thankful man( he also has the first quotable) - that we visit, and reiterated that to me as I passed by him. Funny thing - there was also a Happy Hooker sighting (but not on the Tour). Twin event today is at Champlain where eight Slammers played. Our event had 8 of the top twenty rankings. Top ranked at Champlain is DeeHay at 62 (by the way - he dropped four spots from upsets here today). Speaking of upsets - be sure to look below and see that those eight lost 11 matches - so the top twenty will be different {Gator dropped seven spots!}.

Stars
J-Money
3-0, three upsets, new #2. JMoney first shook hands with Juice, when he parred #5 for their first ever match. Then his par on eighteen gave him two victories. Those upsets were over Irons {his first after two earlier losses) and birthday boy himself. We know that the victory over Smitty avenged a loss in Brockville and put a BIG target on #2's back. I am betting that you would like to replay holes 6 & 16.
chill
3-0, 10th rank to 6th (adjusted to 8) new #1 Slammette (trumping the second notable on the left). She started the day with a career record of 0-3-1. She had lost to each of her opponents the only time that she played them {with her best success being a lone Gru tie}. When they walked off the sixteenth green, she was still in three matches. Although she had a bogey on 17 she closed ProZee. Her bogey on the last hole was enough to finish Clang. Those last two bogeys made it closer but also enabled her to hang on to even the career record with Gru (1-1-1). Oh yeah - that doggie was her 31st and brought her to a tie with Cuba for fourth. Three new Slammers that are at 50-50 career with chill.
Intruder
3-0, upset the Maiden to move from 48 to 12. It is true that his other two wins were against lower ranked and a division lower. But during the introductions - it was mentioned how he was in a funk. He played out of it today, and had to beat one of the Tour's hottest golfers lately {Iron Maiden's 15 wins in the last ten days took another record from Ticklar( in two of the last three holes for the upset. Yes - it was his 17th point out of 20 against IM. Maybe he should just keep playing her for inspiration.
