 Notables - CONGRATS to Bill and his crew at Dragonfly for pushing to open and being the only course on the go today. This is the first time the Slammers have started Spring play at Dragonfly and the conditions were great for the first outdoor round. Fairways were well on their way to drying out and there have been some noticeable improvements to the course including a brand new covered bridge on #4!

Summary
This may be the fourteenth event of the outdoor 2015 Slammer Tour season but it's the first time we have teed it up outdoors here in Ottawa since the calendars changed to 2015 on our desks and on our kitchen walls. Confusing? Well....The "official" start to this new season started at Pineview last November, we snuck one in at Foxfire in Syracuse the day after Boxing Day, six events in Varadero, Cuba and five in Myrtle Beach,SC. But it still felt like it was the first day of the new season regardless and ProZee had the honors of teeing up and hitting a perfect first drive down fairway #1 at Dragonfly today. It was a little cool starting out but the sun came out after a few holes and we were in pure golf bliss. It has begun. Finally. One hundred and forty six days have passed since our final event at Greensmere on November 16th. That was one long Winter season.

Our very own Jason Day came off the course and said "I have to golf again, when is the next event?". His enthusiasm and love for this game is always evident and (hint hint) your captain is hoping for your return to Team South this season. Woodsy started his 2015 outdoor season defending his rank against Danger and ProZee and he takes home a dog and a skin for good measure. Woodsy's days as a bachelor are now being counted down and there will be a new Mrs Woodsy next month - Congrats on your upcoming nuptials ! |

Chucker is a rookie but some of us got to know him well during the Slammer indoor season at Golf O Max where he finished off as #2 in the indoor ranks with an 82.6% winning average. Now that we are outdoors we can see he is that same lean mean Slamming machine and today recorded the upsets against Switch and Mulder and will begin his outdoor Slammer career in the top 100. Four points, one bird, one skin and a doggie will be recorded in his stats to start off the season. Well done! |

McGoop was playing in his 14th Slammer event today ... yes, he (and Juice) are the only two Slammers that have played every single Slammer event so far this 2015 outdoor season. McGoop was the only Slammer to go 3-0 today as he defends against IronMaiden, Juice and DeeJay. One cut off bird (his 42nd bird so far this season!) and a par skin (his 24th skin already!) will be added to his stats and pad his Cuba "kitty". Nice ! |
