 Notables - This week after the Commish Cup, we remember that three time Team Central champ, Stevie Ray thought that he had the first Hole in One by a Slammer. “On Saturday, August 10, 2002 on the 2nd hole at Trillium Wood in Belleville, Ontario, Steve cans a 132 yard 8-iron. The ace was scored during the Slammer Tour Ryder Cup event with a Dunlop Steelcore.“. His fellow team central teammate, Kricket is always helpful to remind us that the first one at a Slammer event was actually “On Friday, April 14, 2006, during a Slammer Tour event, Keerthi (Kricket) draws a 115 yard wedge and drains it on the 14th (hole 4 now) hole at Lombard Glen near Smiths Falls, Ontario.”

Thanx for the prizing Thom, Bill & Joe. I met Thom on the 13th tee box - he told me that he provided the weather. THANK YOU! Today’s event was brought to you by Club EG’s Ireland trip…Join us as we head to southwest Ireland for a spectacular week of sightseeing — and golf at The Island, Tralee, Waterville, the old course at Ballybunion, Lahinch and Doonbeg! The course was AGAIN in fantastic shape, and today we were able to loop it in four hours. Some Slammers went to breakfast first. Others walked to the course today, and eventually all sixteen hit their first tee shot, then followed it up with 1389 more shots. some were good shots, some were not. The good news is that no wildlife were harmed in the making of this event, and not a window was broken. BearCat didn't hit a house and Grumpy didn't hit Mulder's truck (once in a row). Watch the schedule and come and join us. If you don't believe me, ask any Slammer that has ventured south on the highway.

Intruder went 2-0-1 today. Included in those two wins was an upset win over #5 ranked Iron Maiden (her record was 14-2 so far this month). It was his second win over her at this course in two weeks. Intruder may have become IM’s new nemesis. He birdied #16 and with the only par on the first hole, he earned two skins. Don’t lose those new Titleists all on the same day. Thank you Prescott! |

Ticklar’s tee box assignment came in. He is now a T5! Today he scores well, and beats all three opponents. His upset of Irons moved him into the top ten (later corrected to #15 with all of the upsets at Carleton today). His birdie on #7 was his Tour leading 671st. That skin allowed him to keep pace with Malone for the battle for second place overall. Prescott provided Ticklar with a new hat… THANK YOU! |

TMC also went 3-0 today. During introductions it was stated that he had the best record vs his foursome of all in today’s field. He is now 5-0 career against these three. Ranked 135 (you have to get out more!), he jumped up 11 steps on the ladder when he beat IronBrian. Then it was nine more rungs when he upset Gongshow. Finally he was elevated all the way up to 96 when he took down BigGuy. No skins, no birdies, no dogs. Ten pars and seven bogeys were good enough for the best score in the field today. Enjoy that glove and if it doesn’t fit or is the wrong hand, our friends at Prescott GC will trade it. |
